Its early summer, the rains are heavy. Only those with higher ground can possibly hope to escape the terrible flooding. But thats not the Clan's only problem. All this excess water is driving the predators from their homes. Some cats are disappearing. Some return, injured, barely alive. An onslaught is coming, but when? Will the Clans have to join together to end this crisis, or can they pull through without each other's help?

Its deep in the night, a few cats awaken, feeling uneasy. Then, all of a sudden, the walls crash down around them. Every cat startles awake, what could cause such a massive explosion? Every cat is instantly awake, and they charge into their clearing. But, their enemy has hidden well. Is it another Clan, or the predators driven from their homes, looking for another?

A sudden cry explodes from each nursery, from every Clan. A terrible wiling is heard from around the lake, filling the deep night. The nurserys are empty, only the wailing mother left. Ever kit has been stolen. The first blames goes to the Tribe of Rushing Water. Had the Clan cats done something to upset them? Then, if that would fail, the Tribe proven innocent, the blame would go to the other Clans. But, where would the Clans be hiding the kits? Then, if they are all prven innocent, the predators would be the only ones left to blame. But what if its not them?

But all of a sudden, its not just kits turning up missing anymore. Some warriors are disapearing. But, some are also returning, with the bodies of dead kits. What's happening to the peaceful aura of the lake? How will the cats survive the flooding and the attacks?

The vision of StarClan has been blocked to the Medicine Cats and Leaders of every Clan. It seems as though StarClan is throwing them out on a limb. Every dream is clouded with something dark and heavy. What is it? Few days have passed since the first spotting, and kits start disappearing. Some cats are dying, other's coming home injured or half dead. The Clans fear for their lives, what could be causing this.

Then, two cats in each Clan breaks through the darkness. But they're just kittens! Each cat comes up with the same saying. Darkness floods the day, you must find your way. Two from each, venture away. A star from the sky, a leader shall die. Some are missing, some are dead, think it through your head.

It takes moons for the older cats to decipher the meaning behind the words. Some longer than the others. Few hints are given from the Clan ancestors, though each Medicine Cat gets a picture of the mountains, the big twoleg place, and the old forest. What could it mean...
