The Gifts method is slightly complicated- but you'll get use to it. A kit is born with a certain ability. We call them 'Gifts.' There are certain Gifts that each clan has, which will be listed later on in this thread.
Well, a kit is born with a Gift that is extremely weak. Once they become apprentices, they hone in on there skill and build it up. Eventually, the apprentice will learn everything they have to know, and they will become a warrior.
Once an apprentice becomes a warrior, StarClan grants them with a new ability- one they don't even know of yet. The warrior needs to discover there new ability and train themselves on how to use it. The ability is usually something that relates to their life- something that StarClan knows will make that warrior useful to the clan.
When a Warrior becomes a deputy, there powers grow slightly stronger- but nothing really changes.
When a deputy becomes a leader, the leader is granted with the four main Gifts of each Clan ( and they also have their individual Gift ).
Medicine Cat's have the Gift of Thought, and gain access to the subconscious thought, whether it's intentional or not.
There are rules though. If you misuse your Gift to an increased extent, you will have it taken away from StarClan themselves. Warriors have the chance to earn their gift back, but they will never be able to use it to it's fullest potential.
Here is the list of Gifts.
EmberClan The Gift of Heat (main) Allows a warrior to give off heat towards a certain object or area. If honed well enough, a warrior can burn objects. Giving off too much heat can be dangerous though.
The Gift of Flame Allows a warrior to set objects afire for a certain period of time. When that time is up, the fire goes out. As a warrior hones this skill, they learn how to control the flame as well as increase the time the flame burns.
The Gift of Shadow A very useful ability. Allows a warrior to manipulate and bend shadows to their advantage. Great for hunting, stalking, and stealth. When fully acquired, this Gift can not only change the direction, but enlarge and shrink shadows as well.
StoneClan The Gift of Growth (main) Allows a warrior to age certain plants, or trees, etc. Warriors who can build up this ability will be able to grow objects at incredibly quick speeds.
The Gift of Breaking Allows a warrior to shake the earth, causing them to create cracks in the ground and in stones. It starts out as a small shaking, but if practiced, the Gift can grow to shake huge amounts of land.
The Gift of Vines A useful ability that allows a warrior to move and twist vines without touching them. The more practice, the quicker the vines move.
RainClan The Gift of Control (main) A useful Gift that allows a warrior to bend water to their liking. Eventually warriors will be able to shape-shift with the water, and transport it accordingly.
The Gift of Ice Allows a warrior to freeze any amount of water. As warriors hone this Gift, they will be able to freeze for longer periods of time.
The Gift of Reflection When a warrior has a reflection in any body of water or ice, there physical body can 'switch' with their reflection, and for a moment of time they can walk directly underneath the earth. They can only return when they reach another body of water, when there reflection switches back.
BreezeClan The Gift of Wind (main) Allows a warrior to change the strength and direction of wind. At first it'll only be able to move leaves and such, but it'll eventually be able to lift rocks, etc.
The Gift of Flight No, you can't fly through the skies like a bird. But you will have a much higher and further leap that grows farther and faster when it's practiced.
The Gift of Transport Allows a warrior to move a few tail-lengths around them by a blink of an eye. The more you practice, the farther you can teleport. Your energy will drain faster the further you travel.
Special ( when an apprentice becomes a warrior ) The Gift of Language A warrior will be able to communicate with other living creatures. It can either be through other animals, or through plants, but it's usually only one sect.
The Gift of Truth Know exactly who is lying, and who is telling the truth. Useful when talking to other clans.
The Gift of Memory Know every single moment of a warriors own memory- down to the last detail. As it's practiced, they will be able to remember farther back into their memory.
The Gift of Attraction Allows a warrior to temporarily attract any object to themselves. Usually used by arrogant toms trying to grab the attention of a she-cat.
The Gift of Command Enhances the command of a demand. Basically, it can manipulate others into doing your bidding.
The Gift of Darkness Shrouds a certain area in a blanket of Night. It can be honed to be pitch black- where only the user can see.
The Gift of Light Nearly the opposite of the Gift of Darkness- it shrouds a certain area in a blanket of Light. The light is used as a signal, and it can be honed to grow big and visible for far distances.
The Gift of Energy Never sleep with this Gift- your energy is directly granted from StarClan, and just enough so that you will never have to sleep again. Some call it a curse, others a blessing.
The Gift of Power Blow away your enemies with this extra boost in power from StarClan- usually granted to very weak apprentices when they turn into warriors.
The Gift of Grace Enhances the speed and agility of a cat for a short period of time. Allows them to have enhanced balance as well. If practiced enough, it allows a warrior to be quicker and more agile for longer periods of time.
The Gift of Sight Allows a warrior to enter the dreams of others. A very useful Gift, but should be used sparingly. If this Gift were to get into the wrong paws, it wouldn’t be good.
The Gift of Empathy Allows a warrior to have a stronger sense of emotion to those around them. Basically, a warrior will become more empathetic, and will instantly know how others are feeling if their Gift is trained well.
The Gift of Gravity The power to change the force of gravity around you, allowing you to make rocks float, as well as send them crashing into the ground. Just be careful not to use this Gift on yourself, or there may be consequences...
The Gift of Shape Allows a warrior to shape-shift into any object that they have previously touched. Your scent, however, stays the same, and you can only shape-shift for a limited amount of time.
The Gift of Invisibility Allows a warrior to disappear from the sights of others for a short period of time. As the warrior practices, they can become completely invisible for longer periods of time. A warriors’ shadow can still be seen though, and a good combination would be this Gift as with the Gift of Shadow.
The Gift of Tracking This ability super hones in a warriors senses, so that when they concentrate on their face and close their eyes, they can see the location of where any clanmate is. If practiced, they can see the location of any cat that they've met before.
The Gift of Amplification Allows a warrior to decrease ( or increase ) any other Gift's power for a short period of time. This Gift only works short distances, but can be trained to be longer and farther.
The Gift of Identity An extremely rare gift not granted by StarClan- but by a much higher force. Allows a warrior to switch identity's of another warrior for a small period of time- allowing them to literally control their actions, thoughts, and words. The longer they stay in another identity, the more their own identity's energy drains. Careful- stay to long, and your own identity will be lost forever.
The Unforgivable Gifts These are Gifts passed down from the Tribe, that StarClan has banned from the Clans because they possessed too much power. Somehow, though, loners and rogues can still harness these abilities.
The Gift of Pain Allows pain to be passed through one soul to another just by touch. The downside, though, is that the power drains energy with every passing moment. The user cannot control this power, so even if they don’t wish to bring pain to others, they will anyway. The level of pain, however, can be controlled.
The Gift of Illusion This ability creates dark illusions in any cat’s mind. The user can determine what kind of illusions to portray to their victims.
The Gift of Theft Steal anyone's gift for a short amount of time for your advantage. There can be horrible side effects and even death, if left too long and used too much.
The Gift of Premonition Allows you to see short, blurry images of the future. The more you train this gift, the clearer the clearer the images and the longer you can see. Be careful though, because the future can change very easily...
And there are others out there yet to be discovered! If you have one, PM me your idea and I'll be the one to give the green light. Do NOT use a Gift that you made up if it was not approved by me.
