Darn! Willowpaw cursed silently as she fell back to the ground, her previous attack having failed. For every attack she gave, Starpaw was already there, and the same for Starpaw's attacks and Willowpaw's own defense. The two cats were on equal footing, neither able to gain an advantage. Unless... Strange as it was, Willowpaw was having the same thought as Starpaw, and the same thought of many of the other apprentices as well. Help me StarClan! Willowpaw pleaded mentally as she dived at the semi-distracted Starpaw, begging the mysterious ancestors for help; for the Warrior's Gift, as she liked to think of it.

It all happened so fast. Starpaw's shock was mirrored in Willowpaw's for only a moment before they both stopped. Starclan had taken then.
The two stood in awe in the center of a vast clearing with Starclan warriors surrounding the sides. One cat broke from the mass and bounded silently down the slope towards the apprentices. The She-cat was beautiful: her fur was a glowing silver and her eyes were sky-blue. She carried herself with dignity and awarness.
"Your faith will bring you far," were her only words. She touched the two on the nose in turn, and the clearing began to fade.
Seconds had passed. Noboby had noticed the pause between the opponents. But something was definatley different. Starpaw dropped to the ground in confusion only to spring up again in shock as her new body reacted differently to her Warrior Gift. "We're....we're warriors now," was the only thing she could choke out.

Nightpaw was able to track down Peachpaw with little to no difficulty, but instead of pouncing at her, she took all the shadows she had gathered and sent them after the apprentice. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, Nightpaw attempted to wrap the shadows around Peachpaw, making the shadows snake up the she-cat's legs. She didn't really know what effect that would take on Peachpaw, but she really, really, really hoped that it would keep her secured to the ground, because she was tired from using her gift so much. It was hard, containing all those shadows into one, tiny dot.

Peachpaw let out a hiss, her paws tied in the shadows. They seem to move towards her legs. She sturggled to get free and let out a growl, her claws digging into the ground as she soaked up the energy from the sunflowers. The sunflowers seem to die, shiver up into dead flowers.
The apprentice shook and tried to get free, but she didn't know how. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, relaxing all her muscles. Peachpaw then shot open her eyes and twisted her tail over to the nearest dead sunflower. She flicked her tail around in circles..but nothing happened. She let out a growl frustrated. What do I do? she thought. Quickly she turned to the shadows that were holding her tight. She looked at the sunflowers. That is it! the she-cat let out a hiss and flicked her tail towards the nearest sunflower, a small green leaf flashed over to the dead flowers and cut them in half, leaving small spaces for the shadows.
The flowers died and so did Peachpaw's energy. "Nightpaw..you win." she meowed panting, her eyes brusted with happiness. "You earn it. You did good." she meowed giving up. She didn't have enough energy to go on.

Trembling, Willowpaw shakily sat down. Warriors!??! But how? Has this ever happened before? Finally a warrior! All of these thoughts raced through Willowpaw's mind faster than a river after a flood, and they were all to fast to comprehend. Except one thing. Warriors. I'm one of them now. Suddenly, the lithe apprentice convulsed, her body reacting to her new gift very much in the way that Starpaw's new gift was affecting her. It was all happening so fast!

Nightpaw's first thought was that she was hungry. Really hungry. Her second thought was that WOW, it actually worked. Her powers were actually extremely useful for once. Her third thought was the realization that she had won. There was a moment of shock before her joy came crashing down, and the apprentice let out a large smile before allowing the shadows to go back to where they had been. "You did really well t-" Before she finished the little apprentice felt her paws give way and landed on her chest, tail in the air like a banner. "Ow."

Peachpaw let out a hiss and dropped to her knees. Cats have knees right? Whatever if they don't. XD She looked at Nightpaw and tired to raised to her paws, but the she-cat couldn't even do that. "Great game." she whispered.
Shadowpaw was watching the whole thing, he raised to his paws and rushed over to Nightpaw as soon as he saw her touch the ground. "Are you alright?" he asked, his tone was soft and light. He looked at the black she-cat with yellow eyes that blinked once in awhile.
The tom let out a large sigh and flicked his tail over to a shadow, covering Nightpaw with it. "You need to learn your limits on your gift." he meowed, looking around, before nudging Nightpaw to her paws to help her gain her balance again. "You did great, Nightpaw." he whispered.
ooc: I will soon break my habits. >.<

everybody can get their powers nao! have fun with it Starpaw trembled in excitement, her energy returning slowly but surely. "Willowpaw, we should really test to see if we have a new Gift. But how do we know what we recieved?"
That was the big mystery: Their Warrior Gift. The beautiful silver Starclan cat had not told the two what their's was. Starpaw sat down and closed her eyes, searching for the little ball of energy she used to controll her gift. When she found it, she released some of the energy there.
A slight tingling down her spine told her she had found it. Her Gift was obviously controlled part of her, not part of her surroundings. Starpaw took a hesitant step forward and found herself moving with a new grace.
That was it! Starpaw now possesed the Gift of Grace, just like her mother had predicted so long ago. The new warrior was overjoyed, and started prancing in intricate combinations around the clearing, her Gift of Flight sending her soaring.

"I'm doing great," the apprentice responded, leaping back to her paws to show that she was okay. Despite this response, her eyes were drooping a little bit, and her shoulders were slumped in exhaustion. "Mmhmm," Nightpaw murmered in response, too tired to argue with Shadowpaw. This was the first time she had truly used her gift in battle, so how was she supposed to know the limits? When she heard Nightpaw's whisper, she nearly tripped over her paws in shock. "W-what?" she stammered, then quickly said 'thank you' before Shadowpaw could think of her as rude. She had expected Shadowpaw to be filled with criticism, being the cat he was, but obviously she was wrong.
Meanwhile, Blossompaw rushed over and helped Peachpaw up, eyes furrowed with worry and concern. "Are you hurt anywhere?" she asked anxiously to her clanmate, lending the other apprentice a steady shoulder to lean on.

Shadowpaw nudged Nightpaw to her paws again, "Come on lets get you over to some shade, you need rest." he meowed nodding slowly and waiting for the she-cat to lean on him so he can help her get across the shade of trees.
He glazed around for Peachpaw and soon found her at the side with Blossompaw. Alright. Good. I don't have to make sure she is alright either. Her clan mate is there for her, thank Starclan. he sighed and flicked his tail for Nightpaw so she knows that he is waiting for her to get a move on.
Peachpaw looked at Blossompaw, "I am fine. Just a bit tired." she struggled to her paws and shook her body. The brown cat looked at Blossompaw, "Alright. I hurt a lot. I can't even raised to my paws all the way. Can you get me some water? And some poppy seeds? There should be some near the gardens.." she whispered letting her paws slid onto the ground and just laying there, still. She let out a sigh and breathed in the sweet scents of the grass.
Peachpaw closed her eyes breathing in and out, feeling the soft grass brush against her muzzle. She let out a small cough and laid her head on her forepaws. "I never used that much energy..I always know my limits. Why did I loose control on them now?" she asked, pondering to herself.

Nightpaw, still surprised from Shadowpaw's praise, nodded numbly and took tiny steps forward, leaning on him ever so slightly, but not enough to tilt him over or anything. Just a little leaning. When she arrived at the small spot of shade, she plopped herself down and closed her eyes, letting out a deep breath. Her stomach groaned loudly to her dismay, and she opened her eyes and lifted her nose to smell the air. 'Aaah... so hungry,' she thought to herself as her stomach grumbled grumpily.
"Of course," Blossompaw said. She retrieved the poppy seeds with ease, gathering a ball of moss while she was at the garden. Walking along, the apprentice spotted a tiny stream and soaked up some water from there. Upon returning to Peachpaw, Blossompaw placed the poppy seeds in front of her, holding the wet ball of moss in her teeth gingerly. She would give it to the apprentice when she asked for it, just in case it got dirty or something. She wouldn't put up with her clanmate drinking dirty water.

Shadowpaw watched Nightpaw and for a second a worry thought shot through him. "Do you want anything?" he asked softly. He looked around and waited for his reply.
The wind blew against his pelt and he continued to look around. The night sky was around and it was getting dark. He can see the sun setting through the valley. "We should all gather around.." he whispered to himself.
Peachpaw nodded and mewing her thanks, she ate the poppy seeds and rasped her tongue around the water, the sweet taste of water made her feel relaxed and a lot better then she did before.
The apprentice looked at Blossompaw, "Did you fight anyone yet?" she asked softly and then laid her head back down on her forepaws, closing her eyes. The sweet scent of poppy seeds still filled her scent glands which was nice because it was a smoothing scent to Peachpaw.
ooc: no or yes fail post.

Nightpaw smiled at the other apprentice apologetically, sorry that she was making him worry. He shouldn't worry too much about her. She was just tired, and hungry, that was all. "I'm just a bit hungry, but that can wait. It's getting closer to night time; we should be getting back before our clan starts to worry," Nightpaw said as she looked to where Shadowpaw was staring at. Indeed, the night was coming swiftly, the shadows growing deeper as the sun set more and more. Looking to where Peachpaw was, the small she-cat nodded in approval when she saw that Blossompaw was helping out. Why the cat wasn't a medicine cat apprentice she didn't know -- she had a potential for it.
"Me? No, I haven't fought anyone," Blossompaw replied, watching carefully to make sure that the poppy seeds were eaten and the water was drunk. She sat down on her haunches and gave Peachpaw an almost disappointed, stern look, like a queen lecturing naughty kittens. "We really shouldn't be fighting, you know. When we get back to camp, we'll smell like the other clans, and then what'll happen?" said the apprentice with an exasperated sigh. She plopped down next to Peachpaw and rolled onto her back, staring up at the brightly colored sky.

Peachpaw glazed over to Blossompaw and then shrugged, "I am not sure what they will say. We should leave tomorrow morning. Because I am too tired to stay up and walk all the way home." she paused, "They shouldn't be too worried, we can just exploring and ended up running into other apprentices." she meowed shrugging off the idea. "I don't really know..Blossompaw." letting out a yawn.
Shadowpaw settled down, "No. We are staying for the night. Tomorrow we will eat and go home." he meowed his normal tone was back and he shook his pelt before getting comfortable in the grass. His paws were tucked under his body and he let out a large sigh, breathing in the cold scent. He laid his head on his forepaws and let out a large yawn.
The apprentice was too tired to do anything, personal. That or he was just too lazy to go on the long walk back to home. He glanced at Nightpaw, "You need rest anyways." he mewed softly and then shifted his body, and let out a sigh. He was comfortable, and he loved the cold wind blowing against the two cats.
